When we go down to the river to pray
Thinkin’ about them good old days
And who did wear that starry crown?
Good Lord, show us the way
Where is Peace? Whither Shalom?
This morning we were to go down to the river: a bearded man named John, a woman named Linda, a man named Kerry and I along with a few other women and men. It was part of our journey into deeper relationship with the people of this land. We were to be in the hands of an elder, one of the Cowichan people. The people who were here before us.
